World Suicide Prevention Day – Every Voice Matters, Every Connection Counts

Every year on 10 September, the world comes together for World Suicide Prevention Day,a time to raise awareness, remember those we have lost, and strengthen our commitment to saving lives. More than 700,000 people die by suicide globally each year. Behind each number is a person, a family, and a community profoundly affected.

Suicide is complex and devastating — but it is also preventable. By starting conversations, breaking down stigma, and making sure people know where to find support, we can all play a part in preventing suicide.

This year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative”, encourages open and honest discussions about suicide and suicidal behaviour. Talking about it does not make it worse, it creates understanding, offers hope, and connects people to help.

At Interlink RCT, we believe every voice matters, and every connection can save a life.

Meet Shaun – Our Mental Health Service Involvement Officer

Shaun is one of our Mental Health First Aiders, along with many colleagues in the wellbeing team. His role focuses on helping people with lived experience of mental health challenges have their voices heard in the shaping of local mental health services.

If You’re Struggling, Please Remember

You are not alone.
There are people who care, and help is available. If you’re feeling suicidal, please reach out — to a friend, a family member, a helpline, or a support service.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Together, we can create a community where it’s okay to talk, where support is easy to find, and where every person feels seen and valued.
