Introducing Angor: Investing in Community Wellbeing
Written by amber | Published on 15th April 2026
Interlink RCT is pleased to launch Angor, an early intervention and prevention programme investing directly in hyper‑local community wellbeing approaches across Rhondda Cynon Taf. Angor supports community‑led organisations that are deeply rooted, trusted and making a difference.
The programme backs community hubs and anchor organisations to work in partnership with local people and groups – not just within one building, but across the community – connecting activities, strengthening local support pathways and filling gaps identified by the community.
Each Angor pathfinder community will receive around £30,000, and an additional £10,000for a community grant fund. Together, our alliance will evaluate and learn from approaches that build on local strengths, improve wellbeing and strengthen non‑medical referrals (social prescribing) pathways.
We received 50 Expressions of Interest before doing an in-depth assessment of 12 organisations. All were carrying out truly exceptional work and the Panel had to make the very difficult decision to go forward with just three groups (Phase One), funded from Interlink reserves. Interlink trustees thought it essential to invest in our members at a time when so many are struggling to survive. We hope this investment will lead to more investment for more groups.
We hope to work with everyone who wishes to take part to seek further resources, share what we learn and have a strong collective voice. We are delighted to announce the following three successful Angor pathfinder organisations we will be working alongside:
- Manage Money Wales – The Community Sharing Shop, Porth
- Valleys Kids – Soar Centre, Pen y Graig
- Hirwaun YMCA
