Why Not? Committing to the community and voluntary sector in RCT

Interlink RCT is working with our trusted partners, including the Council and Health Board, to develop a set of shared Commitments to strengthen support for community and voluntary organisations across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Despite the huge impact of the Sector is supporting people and communities across RCT, it is poorly resourced and facing huge challenges around funding, volunteering and sustainability.

The Commitments focus on areas such as fair and sustainable funding, support for volunteering, stronger relationships, better communication, and involving the voluntary sector in decisions that affect communities.

Alongside these strategic commitments, we’re also asking Why not…

  • Sponsor volunteer awards?
  • Promote Lotto RCT?
  • Encourage your staff to volunteer and support local groups?
  • Adopt an employee volunteering policy?
  • Use community venues?
  • Contribute to Living Well RCT?

This aims to build long-term partnerships that recognise and help fund the crucial role community and voluntary organisations play in improving wellbeing, reducing inequality and involving and supporting local people.

We will be discussing the next steps with partners at the Interlink RCT Conference and AGM on 4 November at YMa, Pontypridd, come along and share your views and ideas of how we take this forward together.
