Making a difference through regular fundraising

The money raised by Lotto RCT has the potential to make a real difference to grassroots good causes. For organisations already taking part in community lotteries elsewhere, the experience shows how regular contributions can build into a useful source of income over time.

Eye to Eye Counselling, which takes part in the BAVO Community Lotto and is also joining Lotto RCT, said:

“We’ve found it to be a very simple and worthwhile way of generating a small but regular income for our charity. While the amounts raised are relatively modest, it does take time to build up a regular base of supporters. However, the consistency of the income has made a real difference, particularly to our bereavement project.”

The organisation has used funds raised through the Lotto to purchase supplies and resources to directly support people accessing its services. Eye to Eye Counselling also highlighted the opportunity to give supporters another way to support the charity’s work, while having the chance to win a prize themselves. It’s an easy and free way for eligible good causes to create an additional fundraising stream, with regular contributions able to add up over time.

Following the launch events, good causes can sign up for Lotto RCT via the RCT Lotto website on 4 November 2026.

Leading lottery management company, Gatherwell, has been appointed by Interlink RCT to operate the lottery, having successfully launched similar lotteries throughout the UK. Phil Wright, Gatherwell’s General Manager, said:

“We are delighted that Gatherwell has been awarded the opportunity to deliver RCT Lotto. We’re looking forward to working with Interlink RCT to raise funds for many amazing good causes.”

Good causes that are not already Interlink members have to apply to become a member and meet the membership criteria. We suggest you apply as soon as possible to avoid the rush.
