Amser Grant Scheme 2025–26: Short Breaks for Unpaid Carers
Written by amber | Published on 29th May 2025

Grants of up to £10,000 are now available for voluntary and community groups in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil to deliver creative, flexible short breaks for unpaid carers.
🕐 Application deadline: 12pm, Friday 27 June 2025
This funding is part of the Amser Grant Scheme, which supports community and voluntary sector organisations across Wales to improve the availability and accessibility of meaningful breaks for carers.
Funded projects will enable carers to take regular time away from their caring responsibilities, alone or with the person they care for. This could include overnight stays, day trips, or shorter sessions such as weekly activities. The aim is to support the health and wellbeing of both the carer and the cared-for person, while strengthening their relationship. The scheme focuses on:
- Increasing short break opportunities
- Providing flexible, personalised support
- Reaching carers most in need
