Your group’s committee or trustees will make lots of decisions. Who in your group and how your group makes decisions is your group’s governance. Good governance creates a culture where everything works towards fulfilling your group’s vision. Governance can include things like your rules or constitution, your policies, assessing risk, managing your finances and your staff.
There are some legal requirements for governance too. So you can get it right, there are several information sheets below. Please feel free to contact us if anything’s confusing or overwhelming. We’ll be happy to talk you through it. Also, we can provide training and peer support to help with your governance.

Interlink RCT hosts a wide range of Events and Training, both in person and online, for community and voluntary groups in RCT. This can include community events, networking meetings, training courses and more.
We also support people to develop the knowledge and skills that they need. Our organisation runs open courses or puts on courses just for small groups, depending on what is most suitable. We can even design a course specifically for you!
Volunteers are a valuable presence in many communities. They make a difference in places like sports clubs, libraries, schools and hospitals. You can find volunteering opportunities and add your own for FREE on Connect RCT.

Specialist support is a FREE programme designed to assist community and voluntary groups across Rhondda Cynon Taf to gain valuable support and skills from mentors that have the experience needed to help them.
Mentors are recruited from the community and voluntary sector in RCT and can support groups to address their needs.
