Arwain – Next Steps for coaching for leadership programme

We have several spare places for an exciting new coaching programme interlink are funding for community and voluntary sector leaders, and I would be grateful if any of you can identify any interested parties as we are due to start on Monday 15th January, details below.

We already have signed up Jennifer Hare, Money Matters Wales; Louse Wheeler form Hope Rescue; Kath Edwards from Valleys Kids; Katy Thomas from Mothers Matter; and Michaela from Spectacle Theatre.

Next Steps for coaching for leadership

  • Following our second really enjoyable Arwain session on Monday 11 December with Dr Clare Elmi-Glennan, Chartered Coaching Psychologist / Senior Lecturer in Psychology, we have a clear coaching for leadership programme to offer.  We need to fill 10 places and we ask for your help to promote the opportunity.  Spaces will be allocated as we receive expressions of intertest.  This programme is funded by Interlink RCT and if we have more than 10 applicants, we reserve the right to prioritise the list, for example, if we have multiple applications from the same organisation. The next Arwain Network meeting will take place after the programme comes to an end, 10am-12pm Monday 11th March 2023.

What is it?

  • To allow those involved to think about and reflect upon the things that they do really well in and some of the challenges they come up against in their role.  The sessions will help those involved develop coaching and leadership skills, to help communicate with and coach others, investigate imposter syndrome and, how you impact those around you.  The group will develop a ‘safe space’ for discussion with the final content based on the challenges faced by those in the group. For those who are interested, those involved can also sign up to the Interlink peer mentor scheme

How to apply

Are there any requirements?

  • After confirming your place, you will be asked to complete the enclosed reflective log. This involve think reflectively about roles and responsibilities that will guide the coaching sessions.  You will be encouraged to attend all sessions and will need to commit to attending a minimum of 4 or the 6 sessions.

When will it take place?

  • 10:00am-11:00am on Monday mornings on the 15th, 22nd, & 29th January; 5th February; and then 19th and 26th February.

Where?

  • In person at Mothers Matter, Tonypandy

Who can join?

  • We do not define what leadership is or who is a leader.  It is open to anyone who feels they want to develop leadership skills in their role. This maybe something you wish to take up, a colleague or someone else in another community and voluntary sector organisation in RCT.
